Holmes Noble | An Expedition to Mount Everest, A Leadership Learning Experience

Back in March this year, Ben Gilbert, a Partner here at Holmes Noble, took on the mighty challenge of completing a 21-day expedition in the Nepalese Himalayas.

The route took Ben to the top of Gokyo Ri at 5,300m, over the Cho La Pass at 5,400m, across the biggest glacier in Nepal to Everest Base Camp and finally, to the highest point of his journey – the summit of Kala Patar at 5,545m.

Not only was this a fantastic opportunity to support and raise money for The UK Sepsis Trust and Save the Children, pushing Ben far out of his comfort zone, it was also a lesson in understanding purpose, readiness, and autonomy – highlighting the similarities between business goals and personal ones.
